In edition 1 of our newsletter "MAXINIEUWS", we interviewed Reliability Engineer Gerrit Clement. Coca-Cola has been one of our satisfied customers in East Flanders for several years. It employs employees from both our Technix and Xellent departments. We were curious how they experience the cooperation. You can read the result of our interview here.

Gerrit Clement is a Reliability Engineer at Coca-Cola. The Ghent branch uses both technicians and Xellent employees. We asked him about our collaboration over the past few years.

Coca-Cola is a well-known company, a major global player. What is the activity of this site in Ghent?

The site in Ghent comprises both a production site and a distribution centre, where we produce around 50 million crates across our seven production lines.

What is your position within the company?

I have been working as a Reliability Engineer on one of our new CAN lines for a year now. In this position, I try to achieve higher production line efficiency through optimisation of the production process and our maintenance plans. In previous years, I had a similar position on other production lines as well as within the Utilities department.

How did you get to know Maxicon?

Early in his professional career, your CEO Emmanuel Bekaert often provided technical support himself during major maintenance work on our production lines. So he was no stranger within our company and after the founding of Maxicon our paths crossed again which led to the current cooperation.

In what area can Maxicon provide added value for Coca-Cola?

Maxicon succeeds in providing us with the technical profiles that we as a company find very difficult to attract on a permanent basis. You also offer us a flexible solution for assignments with a limited duration.

How is the cooperation with our employee(s) on the shop floor?

Cooperation actually goes very well. During the selection process, wishes and expectations are aligned so that we can start from a good basis each time. On a regular basis, there are evaluation moments both with internal managers and with Maxicon.

How would you describe the cooperation with Maxicon?

In recent years, we have frequently called on Maxicon to provide us with the right profiles. We always have a very open communication in this, which often leads to a good filling of the vacancy.

What advantages and disadvantages do you see in project-based technical support?

The flexibility to attract a profile with the right competences for a specific assignment at short notice is a great advantage, but the fact that people are not familiar with our company's processes, systems and culture can be a disadvantage for short assignments.
