A long-term partnership is what we strive for at Maxicon. This is no different at NiniX Technologies in Bruges. There, technician Andy has been strengthening the team for several months now. Wondering how they look at this cooperation? You can read all about it in the interview below.

How would you describe the activity of NiniX Technologies?

NiniX Technologies has 2 main activities. We develop and build customised automatic assembly lines and we also develop and produce electronic modules for application is difficult environments, e.g. in the gearbox of cars or in the hot water of a central heating system. So we are an engineering company with our own production facilities.

How did you get to know Maxicon?

We were already familiar with Emmanuël Bekaert from a cooperation with Bekaert Technics in the past and were then also satisfied with the service and communication. When contact was accidentally made from Maxicon, the link was quickly made.

In what area can Maxicon offer added value for NiniX?

The machines we build are usually one-off projects. After the development and as soon as the materials are delivered, it is necessary to build the machine or assembly line as soon as possible. Because we build precision machines that run quickly, we also set high requirements on the quality of the assembly and adjustment of the new machines. Maxicon has the added value here and is an excellent partner for us.

Can you give some more information about the project to which Andy may contribute?

Andy has already contributed to the construction of several machines for various customers. The biggest project he has contributed to is an assembly line for Heineken. The machine will be located in Brazil at a supplier of theirs.

How is the cooperation with our employee on the shop floor going?

The cooperation has been great from day 1. Andy is a punctual, reliable worker with the necessary expertise.

How is the communication in general with Maxicon? How would you describe the cooperation?

The cooperation has been excellent. Right from the first meeting, there was good communication about the possibilities of cooperation.

What, in your opinion, are important (character) attributes for a technician?

Technical insight in particular is important for us as we build prototypes every time. Surely there should also be good interaction between the designer and the technician, where direct and open communication is the key to success.

What advantages and disadvantages do you think are associated with project-based technical support?

Ideally, we can count on the same good technicians over a longer period: less training is then needed, the work flow is effective and communication is easier because our engineers already know those individuals.

Would you recommend Maxicon's services to other companies?

Absolutely!

What is Ninix's vision for the future? How do you see the next five years?

We have excellent prospects. After the difficult period of corona, there are 2 clear trends in the industry:

Companies want to be less dependent on suppliers from China or other distant countries. By producing more locally again, logistical problems can be avoided. However, local production must remain competitive so an automatic assembly line or robotic cell is necessary.

Labour forces are becoming scarcer. By performing production with robots or an automatic, production becomes less sensitive to labour shortages or absenteeism.

There are also numerous opportunities for electronic modules. For instance, we are working on the development of a sensor system for monitoring hydrogen tanks. It is generally assumed that hydrogen will become one of the important "green" fuels in the fight against climate change.

So we can be very positive about our future; we see continued growth for all NiniX Technologies' activities over the next five years.
